As 2025 comes to a close, many leaders are already being pushed into next year mode: strategy decks, priorities, budgets, capability frameworks, and shiny plans for “what’s next.”

But here’s the thing. The quality of your thinking about 2026 will only ever be as good as the honesty of your reflection on 2025.

Before you set goals, define focus areas or ask more of yourself and your team, there’s real value in stopping long enough to make sense of what this year has actually been like, professionally and personally. Not to judge it. Not to fix it. Just to understand it.

So instead of rushing into planning, I invite you to pause.

Grab a coffee, close your laptop for ten minutes, and reflect on the year that’s just been. The questions below aren’t designed to be clever, they’re designed to be useful. Answer the ones that matter. Skip the rest. Write honestly.

Your 2025 Reflection

  • What has been your biggest challenge this year?

(And what did it demand of you as a leader or professional?)

  • What is something you genuinely enjoyed?

(A moment, a project, a conversation, a win — however small.)

  • Who or what inspired you this year?

(A person, a team, a book, a moment of courage you witnessed.)

  • What have you learned about yourself?

(Especially under pressure, change or uncertainty.)

  • What have you already changed?

(In how you lead, work, communicate, prioritise or set boundaries.)

  • What is something you want to leave behind in 2025?

(A habit, belief, behaviour, expectation, or way of working.)

  • What do you want to carry into 2026?

(A strength, practice, relationship, insight or rhythm that works.)

  • What really matters for you in 2026?

(Not what should matter — what will genuinely make a difference.)

  • What do you need in order to be happy and productive?

(Energy, clarity, space, challenge, support, focus, rest.)

  • What is your first step — and who will support you?

(Because change is rarely a solo sport.)

As we head into the Festive Season, we want to say thank you for the work you do, often unseen, often complex, and often carrying more responsibility than it appears on paper.

Creating healthy teams, better leaders and stronger cultures takes courage and consistency.

We hope the coming weeks give you space to rest, reflect and reconnect with yourself, with others, and with what really matters to you.

Here’s to closing 2025 with intention, and stepping into 2026 with clarity.
